Excursions and Incursions

At Early Learning Services we provide a balanced program that includes Intellectual, Physical, Social and Emotional experiences. Excursions and Incursions are a valuable part of the program to enhance and extend experiences in our centre. Excursions are where children are taken off the licensed premises to areas of interest and Incursions are where visitors come to the centre for the children.
A written plan is formed about the excursion, including date of excursion, estimated arrival and departure times, method of transport, destination, activities, no. of adults per children, name of staff attending and staff with first aid qualifications, emergency contact number, contingency plan, items the child may need to bring and cost.
Parents must be informed of all of the above and parental consent must be given for each child attending the excursion and monies paid. Children will not attend an excursion without written parental permission.

  • Staff / child ratios must be strictly adhered to according to each state / territory.
  • All visitors attending the centre will be attended to by the centre Director and recorded in the
  • All families will be notified of a planned visitor attending the centre
  • Check that parental consent is given for children to attend incursions on their enrolment forms
  • If parent consent forms are not signed alternative activities will be arranged for those children.
